What is exactly the AI ?

Artificial Intelligence (AI),is unlike natural intelligence demonstrated by computer machines as human and animals do.

Various textbooks defines the field of AI as a study of intelligent agents , which study over instances,adopt the environment of the problem and data given to it and take actions to maximize the chances of successfully attaining goals.

Basically,machine is trained to think,act,decide upon any issue/problem as human being do ,Thus called as Artificial Intelligence.

How AI is serving Health-Care Industry ?

AI in health care is used of complex algorithms in analysis ,diagnostics and thus predicting the roots of diseases.There are 10000+ diseases in the world of which few diseases can be cured,whereas roots of some diseases are still unknown.Similarly diagnostics of 100+ diseases by Health Care professionals can be done but if it comes to bulk ,to know which medication,which symptoms ,here computational power comes in light.

What distinguishes AI technology from traditional technologies in health care is the ability to gain information, process it and give a well-defined output to the end-user. AI does this through machine learning algorithms and deep learning.These algorithms are used to predict patterns,study over them and thus they create their own logic.

The primary aim of health-related AI applications is to analyze relationships between prevention or treatment techniques and patient outcomes. AI programs have been developed and applied to practices such as diagnosis processes, treatment protocol development, drug development, personalized medicine, and patient monitoring and care.

IBM : In healthcare, IBM Watson’s natural language, hypothesis generation, and evidence-based learning capabilities are being investigated to see how Watson may contribute to clinical decision support systems and the increase in artificial intelligence in healthcare for use by medical professionals.Watson filters out the relevant input which needs to identify crucial piece of information ,then it dig out patient informatics about hereditary and medical history to examine collected resource of data and test hypotheses and finally provides a list of distinct,individualized targeted recommendations.
    The sources of data that Watson uses for analysis can include treatment guidelines, electronic medical record data, notes from healthcare providers, research materials, clinical studies, journal articles and patient information. Despite being developed and marketed as a “diagnosis and treatment advisor”, Watson has never been actually involved in the medical diagnosis process, only in assisting with identifying treatment options for patients who have already been diagnosed.
Microsoft Hanover

2. Microsoft : Microsoft’s Hanover project analyzes various medical research in order to infer an effective cancer drug recommendations for patients.Microsoft has developed a general framework for incorporating diverse forms of indirect supervision to compensate for the lack of labeled examples, by combining deep learning with probabilistic logic.
Considering medical applications , in Hanover the scope of machine reading from single sentences to cross-sentence and document-level, and proposed novel neural architectures such as graph LSTMs for incorporating and reasoning with linguistic constraints.

3.Google : Google’s DeepMind is used in UK national health services which detects the potential threats as well as health risks of patient through data collected from mobile application.Another project with the NHS involves analysis of medical images collected from NHS patients to develop computer vision algorithms to detect cancerous tissues.

Thus researchers,medical practitioners are working over the top of medical cases using AI and are successful in deriving various medically sound innovations,that are actually assisting various health care services over a globe in order to root out the diseases and increasing chances of better global medical health.
